From Power Suits to Personal Power: Redefining What Confidence Looks Like

Coming from corporate, there was a lot of push to look a certain way to command respect and authority- can any women in my network relate to this?

I used to think my power came from a “power suit.”
Shoulder pads so sharp they could cut glass and colors loud enough to land me a plane. [Hello, deep purple wool suit and pumps to match!]

Back then, I thought that suit made me unstoppable.
Spoiler alert: it didn’t.

Turns out, the real power move?
Knowing who you are, owning your worth, and walking into any room like you already belong there.

Because confidence doesn’t come from a closet—it comes from clarity.
And you don’t need a blazer to be bold, brilliant, or badass.

I still love a good outfit (hello, sequinned tennis shoes),
but these days, I know my power comes from within—and no dry cleaning required.

I may or may not be obsessed with sequin sneakers and I may or may not have 7 pairs.
